Migration

One line changes

Both endpoints speak standard JSON-RPC over HTTPS and WebSocket, so ethers, viem and web3.py need no code changes. Everything we add is additive.

  • Our extra namespaces are additive — nothing you already call changes shape.
  • Run both in parallel and diff the responses before you cut over. Our free tier makes that cost nothing.

◑ means partial or undocumented — not a criticism, just an honest mark where public information does not settle it. If Tenderly has shipped something since 2026-08-27, tell us and we will correct this page.

The difference

What Tenderly does not cover

Sourced gaps, not speculation.

01

Decodes to Solidity types, not financial ones

tenderly_decodeEvent turns bytes into typed Solidity values. It does not know that a UIMultiplierUpdated event changes what every holder's balance means.

02

No market data

There is no tape, no price reconciliation, no portfolio layer. Tenderly is a development tool, not a data vendor.

Evaluate

Run us side by side

Do not switch on a comparison table. Point both at the same workload and compare the answers.

  1. Get a free key

No card. Point a second RPC_URL at us and mirror your traffic.

  2. Diff the responses

For standard eth_* calls the answers should be identical. If they are not, that is worth knowing about whichever provider is wrong.

  3. Ask for a position at a pre-split block

This is the test that separates providers. Request a wallet's value at a block before a corporate action and check whether the multiplier applied is the one from that block or from today.

Switcher FAQ

The questions migrations actually raise.

Mechanics, gotchas, and tier gates, answered plainly. Anything missing lives in the migration guide.

Yes. We accept the tenderly_* method names verbatim on our JSON-RPC endpoint and alias them to our own namespace, so an existing Tenderly integration migrates by changing one URL.

Every claim links to Tenderly's own documentation and carries the date it was checked. We publish a case for choosing them, and we correct this page when they ship something new — a comparison that ages badly is worth less than no comparison.

RPC is free. Paid plans start at $50 per month for the data layer, with $25 for the first month.

Run us next to Tenderly.

A free key, a second RPC_URL, and the pre-split-block test. That is the whole evaluation.
